Wire EDM

Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) uses an electrode wire as thin as a hair strand. By passing a high-frequency pulsed current through it, a discharge phenomenon occurs between the wire and the workpiece, which is just like the twinkling of countless stars. In this way, the metallic materials are gradually eroded. Relying on this unique electrical discharge machining method, WEDM can cut out complex and varied shapes on various electrically conductive metallic materials with extremely high precision.

Advantages of Wire EDM Machining

Ultra-precision Machining: Dimension accuracy up to ±0.01mm, and 0.001mm with high-end equipment, perfectly meeting the requirements of precision parts.

Complex Shapes Available: Precisely control the electrode wire trajectory to easily process special-shaped holes and molds with complex contours.

All Hard Materials Compatible: Works with all conductive materials, including hard alloys and hardened steel.

High Surface Quality: Surface roughness reaches Ra0.8~3.2μm, reducing subsequent grinding and polishing processes.

Material-Efficient: Electrode wire diameter is only 0.1~0.3mm, minimal cutting allowance, greatly saving precious metal materials.

Applications of Wire Cut Parts

Mold Manufacturing: Machining cavities and cores for stamping, injection, and die-casting molds, ensuring precision and extending mold service life.

Precision Component Machining: Serving aerospace, automotive, and electronics industries, producing components such as engine blade tenons, precision fuel injector holes, and electronic lead frames.

Hard Alloy Machining: Easily cutting high-hardness cemented carbides, widely used in the manufacturing of cutting tools and molds.

Micro Machining: Applied in microelectronics and micromechanics fields, producing micro-gears, micro-electrodes and other miniature structures to meet strict high-precision requirements.

Alloy Steel

All steel is alloyed because it is iron plus an added material. Yet, when we use the term alloyed steel in manufacturing this typically refers to iron material with additional alloys added to it.
